The methodology is based on the radial basis function (RBF) neural network architecture and takes into account the complex interactions between the different mill departments. The outcome of the proposed method is the calculation of marginal costs for different paper machine production rates and different grades. The resulting cost curves can be used to take optimal decisions regarding paper machine loadings and optimize production allocation. date: 2005 event_title: TAPPI Engineering, Pulping & Environmental Conference event_location: Philadelphia, USA event_dates: August 28-31, 2005 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE related_url_url: http://www.tappi.org/Bookstore/Technical-Papers/Conference-Papers/2005/05EUR/Neural-Network-Model-Based-Paper-Machine-Marginal-Cost-Curves-2005-Engineering-Pulping--Environme.aspx related_url_type: pub citation: Patrinos, Panagiotis and Sarimveis, Haralambos and Retsina, Th and Rutherford, S.R and Alexandridis, Alex Neural network model-based paper machine marginal cost curves.
