It is divided into four parts. In the first one it recollects the major theories on the Spanish transition to democracy written from the end of the Eighties up to nowadays. In the second part it describes the origin of long run of the transition and it focus basically on domestic actors such as political parties, trade unions, social movements. In the third part it analyses the role of foreign relationship Spain took during the mid Seventies and the strategy adopted to get in touch with international institutions. In the four and latest part it describes the role played by the memory of the Civil War during the process of transition. How it influenced public opinion and government institutions.} }
