The differences between the corresponding suboptimal values of the Witsenhausen functional and its optimum are estimated, too. The results give insights into the effectiveness of certain approaches proposed in the literature to face this hard optimization problem and into numerical results obtained by some researchers. date: 2012 date_type: published publication: Optimization Letters volume: 6 number: 7 publisher: Springer pagerange: 1425-1446 id_number: 10.1007/s11590-011-0339-6 refereed: TRUE issn: 1862-4472 official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11590-011-0339-6 citation: Gnecco, Giorgio and Sanguineti, Marcello New insights into Witsenhausen’s counterexample.
