%X In the worldwide race to resources to ensure an acceptable level of economic development for present and future generations, the African continent assumes a central role for its abundant natural capital. Notwithstanding the renewed interest of advanced economies, and more recently of the emerging Asian economies, Africa is a continent rich in resources but poorly integrated within the new global economic system.
