Revised Selected Papers abstract: We study the effects of the allocation of distributed generation on the resilience of power grids. We find that an unconstrained allocation and growth of the distributed generation can drive a power grid beyond its design parameters. In order to overcome such a problem, we propose a topological algorithm derived from the field of Complex Networks to allocate distributed generation sources in an existing power grid. date: 2013 series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science number: 7722 publisher: Springer pagerange: 71-79 id_number: 10.1007/978-3-642-41485-5_7 refereed: TRUE isbn: 978-3-642-41484-8 book_title: Critical Information Infrastructures Security official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-41485-5_7 related_url_url: http://arxiv.org/abs/1208.5697 citation: Scala, Antonio and Mureddu, Mario and Chessa, Alessandro and Caldarelli, Guido and Damiano, Alfonso Distributed Generation and Resilience in Power Grids.
