Its pharmacokinetics has been accurately modelled using a fractional-order compartmental model. In this paper we design a fractional-order PID controller and we evaluate its dynamical characteristics in terms of the stability margins of the closed loop and the ability of the controlled system to attenuate various sources of noise and uncertainty. date: 2014-08 date_type: published publisher: IFAC pagerange: 8421-8426 event_title: 19th IFAC World Congress event_location: Cape Town, South Africa event_dates: August 24-29, 2014 event_type: conference id_number: 10.3182/20140824-6-ZA-1003.00740 refereed: TRUE isbn: 978-3-902823-62-5 book_title: Proceedings of the 19th IFAC World Congress official_url: http://www.ifac-papersonline.net/Detailed/67921.html citation: Sopasakis, Pantelis and Sarimveis, Haralambos Controlled drug administration by a fractional PID.
