%X A second-order computational homogenization procedure for heterogeneous materials with  periodic microstructure is applied to the analysis of a layered strip with damaging interface  subjected to simple shear. The second gradient model is applied in a strain localization  analysis and localization limiters depending on the geometry and mechanical parameters of  the layered material are obtained.
