Whilst previous work has required perfect symmetry for exact aggregation, we present approximate fluid lumpability, which makes nearby processes perfectly symmetric after a perturbation of their parameters. We prove that small perturbations yield nearby differential trajectories. Numerically, we show that many heterogeneous processes can be aggregated with negligible errors. date: 2014-06 series: Electronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science number: 154 publisher: Open Publishing Association pagerange: 34-47 event_title: \rm Proceedings Twelfth International Workshop on Quantitative Aspects of Programming Languages and Systems , \rm Grenoble, France, 12-13 April 2014 id_number: 10.4204/EPTCS.154.3 refereed: TRUE book_title: Proceedings Twelfth International Workshop on Quantitative Aspects of Programming Languages and Systems official_url: http://dx.doi.org/10.4204/EPTCS.154.3 citation: Tschaikowski, Max and Tribastone, Mirco Extended differential aggregations in process algebra for performance and biology.
