After that, from 1968 to 1974, Martin studied Mathematics at University Paris 7 and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. In 1971 he became Maitrise-en-Sciences Mathematiques at the University Paris 7 and, in 1974, he got the Diploma in Mathematics at LMU Munich.
