To handle the resulting complexity, we propose a multi-perspective modeling approach with different viewpoints regarding workflow, architecture and component behavior. We combine it with delta modeling to seamlessly capture variability and evolution by the same means on each of the viewpoints. We show how the separation in different viewpoints enables early performance analysis as well as code generation. The approach is illustrated using a case study. date: 2014 date_type: published publication: at - Automatisierungstechnik volume: 62 number: 11 publisher: De Gruyter pagerange: 794-802 id_number: 10.1515/auto-2014-1098 refereed: TRUE issn: 0178-2312 official_url: http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/auto.2014.62.issue-11/auto-2014-1098/auto-2014-1098.xml citation: Kowal, Matthias and Prehofer, Christian and Schaefer, Ina and Tribastone, Mirco Model-based Development and Performance Analysis for Evolving Manufacturing Systems. at - Automatisierungstechnik, 62 (11). pp. 794-802.
