This article offers a first step towards filling this gap and thus strengthening the ties between biology and signal processing. By focusing the attention of the article to a specific domain, the author believes that many new exciting applications of DNA computation can be discovered. A short overview of molecular biology and tools commonly used in DNA computing is also provided for presentation purposes.
