In the chaotic time of the Post War Period the German Councils became in the countryside a instrument in the hands of different political spokesman of the rural areas for implementing different and radical alternative plans with the aim of a new functioning of the rural society: in the hands of the agrarian associations and of the Prussian landholders was an instrument of restoration in the direction of a new corporatisation of the agricultural interests; in the hands of the revolutionary urban and military councils was an activity field for trying to democratize the structure of the society and the economy of the lands, a possibility that went punctually missed. The dissertation can be considered a typical example of Social History, inspired and influenced by the historiographical theories of the New Social History of the School of Bielefeld. We report language independent patterns useful as benchmarks for theoretical models of language evolution. A significantly decreasing (increasing) trend in the birth (death) rate of words indicates a recent shift in the selection laws governing word use. For new words, we observe a peak in the growth-rate fluctuations around 40 years after introduction, consistent with the typical entry time into standard dictionaries and the human generational
timescale. Pronounced changes in the dynamics of language during periods of war shows that word correlations, occurring across time and between words, are largely influenced by coevolutionary social, technological, and political factors. We quantify cultural memory by analyzing the long-term correlations in the use of individual words using detrended fluctuation analysis.Alexander M.
