The article cope with the ascent of Felipe Gonzalez inside the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE). So it describes the way and the role he had at the beginning of his political activism, when he belonged to the Seviglian Federation. In detail it describes how he succeded from the mid –Sixties up to the mid Seventies to be followed and supported by the other several regional federations. Then I describe his most difficult relationship inside the party: the Basque and Madrilenian Federation. These two basically wanted the party to remain limited to the militance and electorate of reference it gathered during the Civil War; whereas Gonzalez was in favour of enlarging the reference group of the party both at level of militance and electorate and he defended the thesis to pass from the blue collars to the white collars references. Then I cite the most important speeches the future leader delivered during the several congress of the party, and then I analyze in details the congress which elected, and then confirmed him as a segretary general, which is identified such as the turning point in the recent history of the Socialist Party in Spain.
